Welcome to the Tilden Elementary Website.
Tilden School, a small school with approximately 210 students, includes grades pre-kindergarten through second grade. Tilden is an Arts Learning Anchor School that provides a rigorous academic program which integrates visual and performing arts, technology and a sports program into the curriculum.
Tilden was designed to meet the early developmental learning needs of both general and special needs children by focusing on learning styles and teaching in many modalities. Special Education services include full inclusion, deaf and hard of hearing, communicatively handicapped, severely handicapped and autism classes. In addition, there is a Resource Specialist Program and speech, and occupational therapists on site to enhance children’s developmental, social and language needs.
Consultation and collaboration from an on-site school psychologist to address learning, behavioral and social-emotional needs is also available. A sensory motor room is on site to help develop the fine and gross motor skills of our students and provide opportunities for sensory integration.
We are a true school community where together, parents, staff and partners continue to design and refine the educational program. We have enthusiastic parent and family support through our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and School Site Council (SSC).
We are committed to the academic, developmental and social growth of every child. Visitors are welcomed.
Principal,
